Contact Christine Buss, Christine@cmbuss.com; 630-416-6210.
GREETING
Welcome, sign-in, and register attendees at ODNChicago’s monthly meetings. Collect payment from non-members and invite them to join. Provide a warm, welcoming point of presence for the organization. Contact Don Kumler, 708-386-0653, dkumler@sbcglobal.net.
PLANNING
We need a few people to help ODNChicago plan a future exciting special event! We want to bring Ron McMillan, Co-Author of Crucial Conversations, a set of influence tools that help strengthen teams and enrich relationships with co-workers, to Chicago to give us a demo of this tool. Ron is a principal with VitalSmarts, a company that has provided products and services to hundreds of companies, including over 300 of the Fortune 500 for the last 25 years to over 20,000 participants. If you are willing to help make this happen, Contact Kathy Nevitt, nevitt6841@comcast.net, 708-358-1204 for more information.

TRAINING
People’s Resource Center (PRC) helps low-income DuPage County residents meet their basic needs by providing food, clothing, and rental assistance. In addition, the PRC helps to break the cycle of poverty with programs like English As A Second Language (ESL)/adult literacy, computer literacy training and access, and an art community for women called Women’s Wisdom.
The People's Resource Center is in the process of developing a Job Training Program that will help clients gain entry-level jobs. We know how to teach Computer Literacy. However, we also want to teach the soft skills for job preparation, such as:
- Time Management
- Self-assessment
- Team Building
- Dress for Success
- Resume Writing
- Networking
- Presentation
- Managing your disability
- The Meaning of Success
- Goal Setting
- Writing Cover Letters
- Conflict Management
- How to say No, politely
- Administrative Assistants in Industry
- Online Resources
- Writing a career plan
- Giving great customer service.
If you can help design the content of these types of short courses, please contact Frank Goetz, fgoetz@peoplesrc.org, 630-682-5402, or go to the website (www.peoplesrc.org), click the Volunteers Needed link, and complete an online Volunteer Application Form.
